St Vincent and Grenadines Getting Around |
The most convenient way to explore St. Vincent is by riding a taxi. Taxis at St. Vincent can get you anywhere in the island and the driver could also give you a brief story of the place you’ll pass on. Before getting inside the taxi, make sure you have negotiated with the fair. The taxis at St. Vincent are unmetered and there is already a fixed fair depending to where you want to go. Usually, taxis get a 12% tip of the fare.
You can take the buses that go to the major towns and villages of St. Vincent. Fair at the bus is cheap and depends on how far your destination is. At the New Kingston Fish Market, the bus would start their road trip going to different corners of St. Vincent. Fare Ranges from EC$1 to EC$6.
Getting your personal ride is much better. Car rental companies are everywhere at St. Vincent. However, if you want to drive on your own, you need to get a temporary driving permit. To acquire a temporary permit, you need to present your driver’s license and pay EC$75 as a fee for the permit at the police department.
