Some of these lively celebrations are:
1.French pre-Lenten Carnival (before Ash Wednesday)- Celebration of the crowning of a Carnival Queen. The streets are field with parades, dancing, and music.
2.Heineken Regatta (month of March) - the event is all about sports competition especially boat races.
3.Marlin Open de St. Martin invitational tournament (month of June) – the event is for fishermen competing for the best catch.
4.Bastille Day (month of July) – the festival is accompanied by parades, sports events, and fireworks.
5.Concordia Day (month of November) – it is also called “Sint Maarten Day”. The celebration is more of somber ceremony and less carnivals.
