All through out the year, Barbados is jam pack with holidays to celebrate and you would want to be in it. Year-round holidays starts with New Year on January 1 and followed by Errol Barrow Day on January 21. The yearly Windsurfing World Cup, which is held at Barbados, falls on January. By the start of February, Holetown Festival gathers the people in Barbados to celebrate the historical arrival of the first English settlers of Barbados that dated back in 1627. This weeklong festival crowds the streets for numerous activities.
Holy week, which fall either March or April is also celebrated at Barbados. After which, Oistins Fish Festival breaks the silence of Holy week with various activities such as boat races, bone-fishing competitions, food, crafts, and street parties. Heroes Day at Barbados falls on April 28 and just a few days, Labour Day follows on May 1.
In mid-July, the top event at Barbados is held, the Crop-Over festival. This Festival is celebrated back the colonial times for the sugar cane harvest. A famous activity at Crop-Over festival is the spirited calypso competition, which lasts for three weeks. Right after the Crop-Over festival, Emancipation Day on August 1 is another holiday to celebrate. The first Monday of August is one of the exciting holidays at Barbados, as a Carnival-like costume parade march at the streets in celebration of Kadooment Day.
Other holidays are first Monday in October - United Nations Day, 30th of November - Independence Day, 25th of December - Christmas Day, and 26th of December - Boxing Day.
