 The beautiful island nation of Barbados is one of the vacation destinations worth your time and travel money. If you are going to spend your vacation here for the first time, check out the following must-see spots to make your trip unforgettable.

 Andromeda Botanic Gardens
This scenic display of nature is located on a cliff where one can see a panoramic view of the Bathsheba, a town on the country’s east coast. The 8-acre rock garden is set on limestone boulders, where wondrous varieties of flowers are in colorful profusion. Get delighted in the wild displays of orchids, heliconia and hibiscus, along with other species such as begonias and ferns. Some animals can be seen among the wonderful blooms, and it is common for you to spot hummingbirds, frogs, lizards and herons, along with an occasional monkey.

 Bridgetown
The Barbadian capital of Bridgetown is located along Carlisle Bay, and it is a busy commercial place where one can look at an interesting mix of colonial and modern architecture. The common streets contain rum shops and chattel houses located alongside residential neighborhoods. One can see the signs of British heritage in this place by the presence of obelisks, Anglican cathedrals and Gothic parliament buildings.

Bridgetown also has a synagogue done in 19th century style, in fact, synagogues have existed in this part of the country since the 1600s.

Of course, you can also have fun outdoors in Bridgetown, and you must visit places such as:

 Careenage
An inlet dotted with recreational boats which includes the heart of the city among its routes

 Queen’s Park
You can have a peaceful picnic here underneath a huge baobab tree.

 Barbados Garrison
This is the base of the British Windward and Leeward Islands Command during the 17th century.

 Barbados Museum
Get a dose of the country’s rich history and view interesting exhibits.

 Baxter’s Road
After taking a tour of Bridgetown, enjoy some tasty bites at the food stalls that are lined up along the street, and check out the rum shops while you are at it.

 Barbados Wildlife Reserve
Located across the road from Farley Hill National Park, this is the perfect place to view monkeys, deer, wallabies, tortoises and other adorable creatures. The wildlife reserve is located in a mahogany forest maintained by the Barbados Primate Research Center.



 Flower Forest
The Flower Forest is located at an old sugar plantation set 850 feet above the sea level. It is about a mile away from another tourist attraction, Harrison’s Cave.

 Harrison’s Cave
Harrison’s Cave is a wonderful underground world of cascades, deep pools and streams among a scatter of stalactites and stalagmites dominating the area. Visitors can view all of these from an electric tram and trailer, and you can actually go down and check out these natural wonders by going to the Rotunda Room and Cascade Pool.

 Tyrol Cot Heritage Village
This is the former home of Sir Grantley Adams, a known leader of the Bajan movement who fought for independence from Britain, and his wife Lady Adams. She occupied the house until she died in 1990. The Palladian style, coral stone house have been transformed into a museum showing the life of the Bajans, and for people who is interested in Bajan history should visit this place.

 Cap off a great tour by dining at The Old Stables Restaurant, which is placed where the stables used to be. You can order meals until 4 pm, and reservations are a must if you plan to go on a Friday.
